Construction of 4-lane Road on NH-12 (New NH-52) from Km 299.000 to 346.540 (Design Chainage from 9.860 to 58.740) (Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section) in the State of Rajasthan under NHDP Phase-III on Hybrid Annuity Mode (Length 48.880 km.)-Package-II. (The Project).

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORT&H), Govemment of India has decided to take-up the development of various National Highway corridors to 4 laning with paved shoulders with provision of capacity augmentation under National Highway Development Program (NHDP) - III under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) in the different states. The Project Conidor i.e. section of NH-52 from Darah-Jhalawaar-Teendhar from Km 9+860 to Km 58+740 (Design Chainage) is one such corridor identified by the Authority. The development of Project highway includes design and construction of the Project Highway as described as here under as per the agreement.

The old National Highway 12 runs through two big states of India viz the State of Rajasthan and and the State of Madhya Pradesh. Its total length was 897.00 km out of which the length in State of Rajasthan was 408.700 km. Recently MoR&TH has revised the key node for network development opportunity of National Highways in the country. With such revision, the old NH-12 in the State of Rajasthan has become the part of the New National Highway-52. The New NH-52 originates from its junction with NH-7 near Sangrur in the State of Punjab and connects Narwana, Hisar in the State of Haryana which will connect further important cities like Fatehpur, Jaipur, Tonk, Kota, Aklera in the State of Rajasthan, Rajgarh, Biora, Dewas, Indore, Sendhwa in the State of Madhya Pradesh, Dhule, Aurangabad, Beed, Osmanabad, Solapur in the State of Maharastra, Bijapur, Hubli in the State of Karnatka and terminates at its junction with NH-66 near Ankola in this State.

Proposal for Improved Connectivity.

The Project Highway traverses through two districts viz. Kota and Jhalawar in Rajasthan State. The project highway starts at the end of ROB approach near Darah at km 299+000 and passes through five major towns Darah, Sarvada, Dabadeh, Suket and Jhalawar. It ends at Teendhar at km 346.540.

The total length of the project is 48.880 Kms. The Scope of the Project comprises of 4 laning of the existing highway with development of new green field bypass alignments. The highway comprises of Rigid pavement for Main Carriageway and Flexible pavement for the service road. The existing 2 lane of the project highway has to be constructed to new 4-lane rigid pavement carriageway with paved shoulders for a length of 10.489 Km whereas balance length 38.391 is to be constructed to a new 4 lane Rigid pavement carriageway with paved shoulder including 1.363 km realignment portion" In this overall scope 37.028 Km is developed as new bypasses by bypassing congested Major Towns & villages i.e. Dabadeh, Saharawada, Suket, Jhalawar, Jhalrapatan. To improve the safety of traffic, there are two more realignment portions featured in the scope starting from Km. 20.664 to Km. 21.682 (1.018 km) and from Km 22.119 to Km. 22.464 (0.345 Km.) for the village Atraliya having total length of 1.363 km. for smooth traffic movement. The Project is also equipped with lastest proposal of MoRTH consisting all the Major Structures will be developed as Six Lane Structures for widening of alignment to counter increasing traffic problems in future.

Existing Project Site.

The Existing road width is of 2 lane configuration. The existing available ROW varies from 15 m to 30 m. A detailed study of the Project Highway has been carried out in two stretches as described hereunder: An Index Map and location plan of the project highway is given as below-

Stretch-I : From Chainage 299+000 to 318+500 335+100 of NH-12 (Ahu River bridge, near Suket Town). This stretch traverses through Dabadeh, Saharawada, Suket.

Stretch-II : From Chainage 335+100 to 346+540 of NH-12 (Teendhar). This stretch passes through Jhalawar and Jhalarapatan towns.
